The TALESHAN (Taleshi people) live along the mist-covered hills and coastal plains of Gilan Province, in the south of the Caspian Sea. Some communities also extend into Ardabil Province and across the border into the Republic of Azerbaijan, forming a cultural bridge between regions. They speak the Talysh language, a branch of the Northwestern Iranian languages (Azari Language), and have preserved a unique identity through centuries of quiet resilience. Rooted in farming, herding, and nature-based traditions, the Taleshi culture flows gently through everyday life. This gallery captures the subtle beauty of their world — fog-draped mountains, textured clothing, and lives shaped by both land and legacy.
